Care & Hanging Guide

Prism Planters are designed to bring light, texture, and warmth into your space. Each of our pieces are handmade and thoughtfully assembled, and a little care will help ensure they are enjoyed safely and beautifully for years to come.

Structural Preparation & Suspension

Every Bead & Bloom planter is prepared in-house as part of the suspension process. Each connection point is carefully reinforced, aligned, and tested to make sure it can safely support your plant over time.

The suspension chains we source use welded links for added strength and security. Combined with strong, load-bearing hardware, the suspension system is designed to feel secure, balanced, and built to last.

Hanging & Weight Guidelines

Our Prism Planters are designed to hang and aren’t suitable for sitting on flat surfaces, as this can damage the hanging elements.

Each planter can safely support up to 3kg when installed properly. This includes everything — the planter, inner pot, water tray, soil, and a fully watered plant. Keep in mind that heavier plants or very wet soil can add more weight than expected, so it’s best to stay comfortably within that limit.

Installation matters just as much as weight, so always make sure you’re hanging it from a strong, suitable surface.

Included Hanging Hardware

Each Prism Planter includes:

  • A gold stainless steel S-hook for flexible styling and hanging
  • A well-draining plastic inner pot and water tray, designed to sit neatly inside the planter
  • Spare jump rings, provided in case of breakage during transit or gradual wear over time

Ceiling hooks, anchors and other ceiling fixings are not included, as installation requirements vary depending on ceiling type and structure.

Installation Recommendations

  • Use the supplied gold stainless steel S-hook to connect the planter to a suitable hanging point
  • Install your planter using ceiling hardware appropriate for your ceiling type and the full planted weight of the planter
  • Do not exceed a total weight of 3 kg (planter, inner pot, soil, plant and water combined)
  • Hang away from walkways, doors and high-traffic areas
  • Always lift and adjust from the planter body or structural hanging hardwarenever by the decorative chains or elements

Always ensure your chosen hanging point and ceiling hardware are secure and suitable for the total weight of your planter. If you're unsure which fixing is appropriate for your ceiling, consult a qualified professional before installation.

Prism Planters are decorative objects and should be installed thoughtfully.

Indoor Use Only

Prism Planters are made for indoor use.

They’re not designed to handle rain, humidity, or outdoor conditions long-term, which can damage the finish and hardware over time.

Watering & Drainage

To help protect your planter, always use the included inner pot and water tray.

The tray sits underneath the pot to stop moisture from sitting directly against the metal, which helps preserve the finish.

Try to avoid overwatering, and don’t let water pool at the base. Ongoing exposure to excess moisture can affect the finish over time and isn’t considered a fault.

What type of plants work best?

Every Bead & Bloom planter includes a 21 cm removable inner pot and matching water tray, making planting and maintenance simple. They are best suited to light or medium trailing plants such as Pothos, Philodendron, String of Pearls, String of Hearts, or similar varieties. Compact succulents are also suitable, provided they are not overplanted.

To maintain the planter's balance and ensure long-term performance, we recommend avoiding large or top-heavy plants.

Handling & Cleaning

  • Always support the planter from the base when moving it
  • Never lift, pull, or adjust the planter by the decorative chains, crystals, or ornamental elements
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth
  • Do not soak, submerge, or use abrasive or chemical cleaners

Light & Placement

Prism Planters are designed to interact with natural light.

Placing your planter near a window or light source will enhance the prism effect. Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh, direct sunlight, which may affect the finish over time.

Handmade Variations

Each Prism Planter is handmade in small batches.

Slight variations in texture, finish, and prism placement are a natural part of the process and contribute to the individuality of each piece. These variations are not considered defects.
